My name is Laura McNaughton and I am of Cuban heritage. My parents fled Communism in 1959 and upon arriving in the U.S., settled in New Jersey where I was born. Our family moved to Miami when I was young, and I have lived in Pinecrest for 21 years.
I am an FIU-educated accountant with a degree in business finance plus a graduate certificate in accounting and auditing. I have served the seafood industry as a business manager for 20 years.
Shifting to part-time status, I now substitute teach at Howard Drive and Palmetto Elementary schools.
My husband Bert grew up here and we have two wonderful children, Danny, 27, and David, 18, who both attended Gulliver and Palmetto High School.
These school involvements have given me a new perspective on the value of living in Pinecrest and kindled my desire to give something back through public service.
I excel at business problem-solving and working in groups to achieve defined results. And most important – I am a good listener, as you will learn when you meet me walking in your neighborhood.
I invite you to share your thoughts, then or anytime, about how together we can make Pinecrest an even more desirable place to live.
Send Laura a message and share what matters most to you about our community.
